It looks like Microsoft will compensate Xbox Live Gold members after the network issues that many members had over the festive period.

Nice to hear that they'll do something to compensate for the inconvenience.
I didnt use Live that much over the winter holiday season anyway, I was stuck on Singleplayer on Mass Effect, heh.

I wonder what it will beeeee.
Free month for everybody perhaps?

I had intermittant problems signing in, but I don't actually play on Live all that much. A bigger problem (and one that would also affect Silver users) is not being able to play the full versions of XBLA games that you've bought and paid for.

I never really noticed a problem. All my friends were able to sign on and play w/ others on Rock Band/Guitar Hero 3. Now other games idk about. COD4 did mess up now that I remember, but it was a sign-on error though.....

They better mean ALL Gold users... otherwise how are they going to determine who was "inconvenienced". I tried to play a little last week and it was laggy and slow, I just presumed there was a massive surge of users coming on after Christmas and turned it off.

It's funny; the more profitable it becomes, the less reliable it gets. It's like MS has set up a business where the ideal outcome is for it to be rendered totally useless. They would love it if every house had an Xbox360 with a Live subscription. Except they would never be able to handle the load, and Live would collapse.

I had a hell of a time trying to log in to XBL on Dec. 30 and 31. I just kept thinking, "I paid for this?"

i wonder why the hell live is still paid..... it could be cheaper or even free by now, especially with all the adds....
