AMD has announced its Live! Ultra platform and the AMD Live! Explorer application for browsing music, photos and video.

Looks nice! But it's probably just eye-candy for me. Explorer itself is fine for me, as I know where everything's at already on the system. I can imagine this'll be a hit with the ADD-afflicted techie porn crowd!

I really, really, really didn't get it....

Doesn't it look very much like Windows Media Player? Or iTunes? Doesn't it do pretty much the same job? Isn't either of those bundled with the OS or available as free downloads?

I ~~hate~~ despise exclamation marks in product names. its always a strait turn-off for me.
anyway, aside from the name that makes me yell "hulk smash", the demo vid does look good.

isn't it a bit similar to intels rubbish 'Viiv' bloatware it included on my and so many other pc's? it just looks like amd trying to follow intel (as usual)

meh, my vista ultimate got media player, so im happy wit that.

I wouldn't mind using something like that. I don't have the luxury of fitting a television set and satellite receiver box on my desk.
