Looking for good LCD
My old E-19A 19" LCD died yesterday. The back-light burned it self out, complete with charred cables and a sickening stench. Right now I am using a seven year old busted CRT that makes everything a disgusting shade of pale pink and sky blue. All the reds look orange; blacks are gray, blue a teal and white a pale-blue peach.
Searching the forum helped a lot and I want to buy a good 19 or 20 inch standard monitor with an S-IPS panel. The NEC MultiSync 20WMGX2 was in the right price range but no one sells than any more. Newegg has a bunch of UXGA and XSGA panels but no information is available on their color reproduction. I am looking for life-like vibrant colors with decent response time less than 25 ms for general use and editing photos. I have been not paying much attention to current technology while stubbornly clinging to an old LCD over the past four years and need some help getting the right monitor. |

Did more research and found many LCD monitor manufacturers don't tell you what type of panel is used, just it's specification determined by it's screen size and hight ratio. S-IPS was a early design in 2006 to the current standard H-IPS and can be found for sale. Might get the Planar PX2611W when I have enough money to afford it.
I will avoid posting anything at bit-tech for a while. Thank you to all the people who bothered to read the first post and will make a better effort to follow the forum rules. Is is possible for the moderator to close this thread and remove it from the forum? |
