Purple Labs launches Linux phone

Purple Labs is to launch a Linux-based 3G handset aimed at 'developing markets' that it hopes will do for mobile takeup what the OLPC might do for computing.

hmmm, interesting, bet we never see it in new zealand thou wouldnt it be a lil underpowered for ubuntu, think more chance with different distros thou

But serious, my Qtek/HPC S200 PDA is starting to wear down (WLAN & Cardreader are failing), so I'm interested... Except for that colour...

Actually, there is virtually no chance ANYTHING will work on the Verizon network </sarcasm>

That said, it is probably GSM
