PS3 Folding@Home hits a million users

Just shows how well suited the PS3 is for folding, although it does do different calculations to PCs. Good stuff.

they should make a version that also uses the GPU for calculations....

Disappointingly, Nvidia's GPUs don't run Folding@Home. They'd need an ATI GPU for that.

Why is it bad that a server processor is beating desktop processors??
360 should use the GPU I imagine it would be better than the cell in terms of complexity...

If the average Joe on the PC side of F@H had an 8 core cpu this would be different. Another problem is that the PS3 F@H is really simple to use compared to the multi-core client of PC F@H.

And if they ever get F@H running on the 8800 series, the PS3 will be way behind.

I just got a PS3 for watching movies, I like the idea that it's capable of doing that when I'm not using it. They should start making other appliances that can as well, like toasters and stuff.
