mass effect is an awesome game that would suite the pc really well and with XNA a pc version could be done in months. its a shame really, i would of like to see it on the pc.

Gates' keynote in January 2007 is still ringing in my ears.... All that talk about how gaming on Vista would be great, and how Microsoft thought gaming was one of their best weapons against the rising popularity of Linux and OSX....

When the MS rep says X Box exclusive, he could just be referring to consoles.

Ultimate gaming console is still the PC so if a game is console only then I won't be buying it (unless its for the Wii

). Fable 2 is the only game I'm going to be disappointed I'm missing. I have a friend who's been game testing it -lucky bugger- and apparently Lionhead really hated the hassle associated with porting Fable 1 so they are almost certain not to do it this time.

They said the same thing about Halo Combat Evolved, I seem to recall the word never being used at the time so I'll take this with a pinch of salt.
Besides maybe they did mean console exclusive as in not for the PS3, strictly speaking he didn't actually say it wouldn't be released on the PC - more carefully worded PR bollox by the looks of things .

It's a completely different situation now though, it's very easy to port 360->PC and vice versa, and if they really couldn't be bothered with the task I'm sure MS will pay some other company to port it for them like what happened with Halo 1 and 2.

Woohoo mass effect for PC - and it even sounds like they will fix up a bunch of the things people considered flaws in the 360 version in the first place
