Awesome race! Monaco in the wet is great.

Poor Sutil though.

Great race - shame about Sutil getting knocked out, he drove like an absolute legend. Another "meh" performance from Ferrari, but Monaco really isn't their race. Alonso had a poor race, but I'd probably lay it at the door of a poorly-gripping Renault most of the time.

Sutil getting terrible luck there, poor chap. In all honesty, it wasn't Kimi's fault, but still sucks real bad. Five points for Force India is worth a whole lot.

Yup - not even Kimi's fault, if anything he was just chilling out for a couple of laps, rather than getting up close to Sutil. Just one of those things I suppose.

Alonso's crash with Nakajima was classic - hot-blooded Spanish racing driver sees a "gap" that doesn't exist and tries for it. As a mate of mine put it, "Nakajima didn't close the door, he just bolted it."

The one at Lowes? I thought that was with Heidfeld? Unless I missed something.

Was that Heidfeld? Fair enough, I'll bow to superior memory.

It was no ones fault, it just very annoying how kimi came in for a new nose, and Sutil's car was KO-ed
hopefuly things will go better in the next race, though you dont get chances like that given to you that oftern.

Alonso had a huge advantage at that point with been on full wets, just shows still its not easy to overtake in f1.

Better than Pique so far but solidly in the large midfield and usually getting beaten by the Renault-powered Red Bull cars. Currently 9th in the championship with 9pts, best result 4th in Australia but that was only out of 6 finishers.

Very true, but the overtake was most definately not on at that point.

Good. Quite frankly, whatever turns him on in his spare time does not affect his ability to do his job (unlike, say, being a smack-head). I'm glad that the outcome was what it was.

QFT. Behind closed doors he can do what he likes. That, and it was wildly over-exaggerated about the "Nazi" crap too.

Good call but I wonder if it's another damaging blow for F1?

Regardless of Max's personal foibles, is the result damaging? Yes.

The German and US auto clubs are planning on splitting from the FIA. More big clubs will follow suit. the FIAs authority will be eroded.

He may have won a vote & saved face, but to save the FIA Max may want to bring forward his retirement (He's publically stated that he's going to step down in 2009)

Exactly! To be honest, F1 has become so bleeding boring over the past few years that I'm not surprised. GP2 is great to watch as it's really down to driver skill (and the size of their balls?) As is evident with the fact that Alonso, a two time world champion, is half way down the pack, and Coulthard, who's been racing for years and almost won the championship, is further behind still.

There is something to be said for all the cars being the same, you could then have all the funky tech, all those advancements they seem to have banned as neither team would have an advantage over the other. Obviously it would cost less to go racing too so there could be more teams.

Think of it, a collaboration of the major players making different parts of the cars and then everyone using them. For instance, Merc/McLaren with the engine, Ferrari with the chasis, honda with the wings (because of the dumbo ears mainly ), Renault the suspension and toyota with....erm....well....the radio's....

You get my point anyway.
