RotoSequence has yet to learn the way of the Dremel
CS is a game that I only enjoy when I play with just a friend or two. When lots of random people get thrown into the mix, it gets old fast.

If you're looking for reward in your games, single player games are where its at. EVE Online might be your cup of tea, but it does have a rather steep learning curve...

Anyway, why don't you guys try other HL2 mods such as ... (I know I've pimped this game several times in the past but I have to do this...) INSURGENCY www.insmod.net.
Yeah, I really like this game. After a game of CS:S it can seem quite hard, and yes, if you are noob you will get owned frequently! However, I find the gameplay way more consistent than CS:S because if you see them first, and shoot first, then they die, simple. Its incredible the amount of times I have supposedly had the upper hand in CS and thought "Yes I'm gonna own this noob", only to see them turn round instantly and head shot me while I'm emptying an entire clip into them! That just doesn't happen in Insurgency.

I have a self-imposed ban on CS:S - I deleted it. If it's on my computer, I waste hours on it (Steam rating of 10 - even when I have dissertations to write etc). The thing is, I know it's not a perfect game. You have to spend years of your life in order to get any good at it, and even then you're only beating 14 year old losers with un-broken voices whining down the mic. Don't get addicted, it's not worth it. Sounds like you've had a lucky escape

A lucky escape maybe, but it would only have been from the frying pan into the fire, i waste away on Team Fortress 2 for most of my waking hours, its really messing up my circadian rythme

CS Source was trying to be something else which never really caught the attention of the old hardcore gamers. You guys think the cheating problem is bad? I live in Hong Kong, near door to China and I can log on Korean, Chinese, Taiwanese servers and ****. THEY ALL HACK.

Anyway, why don't you guys try other HL2 mods such as ... (I know I've pimped this game several times in the past but I have to do this...) INSURGENCY www.insmod.net. If you do end up playing look for Steamfriends or Steamgamers in US West. Surprisingly I manage to play with 200 ping :P
Are you sure that they all hack : ? I can tell for sure that on European servers you can find plenty of servers with decent admins. I do not know how good you are, but when I played CS, everytime I logged on someone would call me a hacker (or somebody else on the server), until the admins decided to shut him up by banning him (admins get to know who is a good player and who is hacking by watching them regularly if you play often on the same servers) ...

If you play consistently you get really impossible reflexes and you will be able to consistently headshot even many times on a reflex shot ... Needless to say that with a 200 ping you will NEVER get a decent score on a decent server even if you are very good, and although I cannot know, I feel like you think that other people are cheating because of your ping =/
