It's focussing on media rather than games at the moment because there still aren't any decent games available for the PS3!

without any decent games its just a blue ray player with bad games, and with the price of blue ray content you cant enjoy very much of that anyway.

Depends on how you look at it. Prices of BD's are much lower than DVD's were in comparison since inception. I pay about $20-$24 a disc during release week for new flicks, so no...it's not much more expensive than current DVD; at least to me. And I think the extra few bucks make up for the fact that it's more than twice the quality of DVD.

Another ridiculous statement.....if there aren't any good games already/coming out for it then there sure as hell aren't any for the 360. I love how Sony gives the consumer a needed update, yet people continue to bash them for not doing something else. The new, exclusive games are coming (GT5 in early April), so I guess you can either continue playing games you already own (wow...who would've thought of that) or you can just sit and wait. Right now, any game coming out for 360 is on PS3 as well, so you can't argue that there are no games for PS3 w/o bringing the 360 with it. Personally, if I owned a PS3 and wanted to use it to its potential I would love this update, but that's just me. I do agree that there haven't been any great (exclusive) games in a good while for the PS3 and Sony needs to hurry their a**es up or else people are going to get mad/tired; games are what sell consoles, right? The internet browser update is also a welcomed upgrade as well....

/shrug, TBH, any games I want on my 360, I could get on my PS3 or PC, so it's not like the 360 has a lot of WHOA games, either does the PS3 for that matter, they have decent titles though (I hate Halo -_- overhyped imho). I mainly use my PS3 for R&C, Resistance, soon to be GTA4, Drake's Fortune and DMC4 (waiting on MGS4), although I'll be enjoying Assassin's Creed on my 360 (waiting on Gears of War 2)

PS2, imho, remains stronger than both of them, as with the Wii >.> although I don't personally own a Wii, I heard great things from friends with it.

That arguement has long been wrong since late last year. Most games released since last winter for Xbox 360 are also available on PS3. PSN has a decent offering of original games, and they have a handful of exclusive (not a years worth like an Xbox 360 but still there).

And also some of you need to understand the different between the Firmware updates, and Sony's Thursday PSN update. You won't get very much "game" content in a firmware update, maybe more additions to the 80GB BC List, In-game XMB (really that is all most are waiting for) maybe some new features for the XMB itself but honestly..game content? That is what the PSN is for, two different departments, two different entities.

unfortunatly in the UK the price difference is far higher than DVD especially with older ones which are now avaliable on DVD at a quarter or less than the Blu Ray equivalent.

You missed what he was saying

Of course DVD's are cheap, he was saying that when DVD's first came onto the market years ago, the price of a DVD then was alot more than what the Blu-Ray disc is today. Therefore give it 8 years and Blu Ray will be alot cheaper than DVD's are today.

I was paying £20 a standard edition DVD around 8 years ago. Blu-Ray are £14 to £24, if your paying any more and its not a boxset, then your getting ripped off.
