Nice idea. I think the blue tint looks wrong though - it could be a nice orange tint which would suit the theme better, too.

Cool concept
I wish it was a bit brighter to show of some more details, especially on the clock housing. I'm also a bit unsure about the blue tint would probably fit better with a golden look. I also think this one could look good in sepia

The image itself is pretty nice. There are a couple of things that stick out to me: The red reflection just beneath the watch face is very distracting. You might try cloning it out. The blue tint is interesting, but I didn't immediately think of it reflecting the evening sky. I thought it was one of those "indiglo" watches. If you want to stick with the idea of reflecting the evening sky, you might try a subtle gradient using golds, reds and blues. That might give the impression of the sun setting, and the night sky beginning to appear.
Thematically, I think this is headed in the right direction. However, I believe the execution needs a little tweaking. -monkey

Thanks for the feedback.
I agree that this could be pulled this off a lot better. I'm feeling too much detail has been lost and the blue is over the top. I'll see if I can get to re-shooting this weekend (shouldn't take too long )I'll try out the sepia and bw and see what gives. Cheers!

By the way: Is it obvious/clear that the hands are moving one hour? I'm thinking I might need to enhance that part a bit as well?

Bring the levels up a bit, add a warming filter then you may have something.

Added my redo of the thing:
![]() Click for big 350D 18-55 Kit Lens + Macro Lens attachment, ISO800, f/4, 1/1600 Pretty much directly from camera only adjusted contrast slightly. Lit with almost dead-on spot (IKEA halogenlamp) and the dinner table lamp from above. -------------- This was the first go at it: -------------- ![]() Click for big Canon EOS 350D / Canon 50mm 1.8 @ 1.8mm 1/125s using only ambient lighting.

I definitely prefer the updated one - nice focal point and colors. Background (or lack thereof) is also far better.

Thanks guys!
Please let me know what you think of the composition as it has me a bit in doubt. Perhaps a slight and precise crop could straighten it out for me. Any tips are welcomed. The original go has been completely dismissed by the way. I don't even think there's any comparison. What I personally really like about the new shot is the film noir 'ish quality it has. What do you think of the "idea"?

Thanks
The colors are natural by the way (due to the lighting). I guess I should try polishing the outside of that watch

Very nice. Did you use an extension or was that just the 50 lens?

Really like it!
Can we get a bigger version? Something that's let's say... wallpaper size?

![]() It was using the 18-55 kit lens and one of these cheapo macro filter sets. Can be had on ebay for around $21 incl. p&p. Here's a pic of the set I have:
