No Fallout 3 demo coming
http://www.bit-tech.net/news/2008/04...3_demo_coming/
Bethesda's Pete Hines has revealed that there is no chance of a Fallout 3 demo being released. Ever. He says that it's simply impossible to cut the game down into a demo.

Not surprised really, IMO, better to release no demo than a bad demo that reflects poorly on the final game.

Oblivion with guns, no way this game turns out anything close to the original fallouts.

No doubt there are people that will use this as an excuse to pirate the game, play it for 20 hours and decide they don't like it enough to pay.

Fallout 3 doesnt need a demo to promote sales anyway, since it will sell due to its name, so its probably just a cost savings thing to make no demo since the developer thinks it would be a waste of time and money.

Yeah, people who know Fallout will probably buy it anyway, and people who don't will buy it because it's from the same guys as Oblivion, they're going to have no problems selling it.

i'll just wait for reviews to come out. easy way to do it, and then if I decide to buy the game i'll wait for a few patches to come out and then get it.

Fallout 1 had an awesome demo. An entirely custom designed area - a town not featured in the full game with various quests, at least five endings and an entirely satisfying feel. I played the demo for it at least twenty times.

I always like demos for PC games if only to see how they perform on my current system, since that does determine whether I buy it new, or wait until my next upgrade (when the game would usually be cheaper).
The demo for fallout 1 sounds awesome, it would be cool if they did something like that. But then, have bethesda ever released demos? I don't remember any for oblivion or morrowind. |

Bethesda have made some good games, but some very buggy ones too.
Take 'Pirates of the Caribean' a terrible name choice yes, and terribly terribly buggy, but add the Build13 mod and you can see what this came really set out to achieve.........let's just hope that Bethesda dont only make a fantastic framework this time though.

Anyone who liked Oblivion will look at this, then look at their wallet, and decide that the better of the two options is the game.
