Microsoft withdraws from Yahoo! acquisition
http://www.bit-tech.net/news/2008/05...-acquisition/1
Microsoft has withdrawn its offer to buy Yahoo! after a last-gasp attempt to seal the deal. Almost $50 billion is still not enough.

I think yahoo are somewhat blind to the situation they are in, the deal would have been beneficial for both parties. Not that i'm really bothered about either search engine. Google is the way forward, i haven't used yahoo since the days if Windows 95.

Quite surprised M$ backed down after all this time, but to be honest I don't think Yahoo was worth it's asking price.

I don't think Yahoo is/was worth the asking price, and I think for many reasons the whole thing would have been a massive disaster for both parties.

I haven't used Yahoo in nearly 10 years. I give them some props for surviving this long, but if I ever need to look up information, Google is always my choice.
