Police to be trained on videogames
http://www.bit-tech.net/news/2008/05...n-videogames/1
UK police forces are to receive firearm training from a new simulation game that aims to be a truly realistic conflict simulation.

On a more serious note maybe they wouldn't have shot that poor dude on the subway if they had have played this game hmm nah they probabily still would have shot him but they would have taunted afterwards.
I think this is a good idea but the peripherals they should use would need to be completely realistic i.e include magazines and cocking mechanisms, i dont know whether the bitech filter will let me say "cocking" so a bolt action mechanism will have to do.

What a horrible, horrible idea!
We all know that video games are DIRECTLY linked to obscene violence, rape, murder, and liberal fundamentals in the world, so why would we want a group of people carrying GUNS to play these murder simulators?! Doesn't anybody see the innate danger in this? Think of the children!

Sounds cool but hands on training is better (not with live people, with dummys of course)

I've got an idea for a headline:
Joe Martin to be trained in writing accurate headlines Going on both the bit-tech and the bbc article, the police don't appear to have made any commitment whatsoever. The game was designed for coppers, but that appears to be it. |

Without sounding like another just applying a game scenario to a possible real life situation. A police officer tea-bagging someone might be quite a sight.
