So i decided that im not broke enough so i decided to build a 2nd computer. partly because i hate having to lug my full tower around and because there are some things i would like to try with out having any down time on my main rig. plus its a great excuse to buy tools and new toys!

so long story short after some nail biting e-bay bidding i wound up with this sitting on my steps when i got home today.

looks like my co-workers at UPS had some fun with it.

ladies and gentlemen i would like to introduce you to my Lian-Li PC-V300

i love the shine on the PCI slot covers

the first part to go was the rack that held the 2 80mm fans

using a 120mm from my other rig to get a idea of size. im going to try to stuff a 2x120 radiator in there (that should be interesting)

and i should have room for a pump in the other half of the drive bay. not quite sure what kind or ware im going to stick the res.

and i think im going to have the drive bay's powder coated black so that when your looking at the case from the front and the windows that will be cut in it you wont be able to see the aluminum.

the going will be slow at first, i have finals this coming week, but im graduating with a degree in Electronics Technology and getting a new job the week after next (no more smashing packages for me). so once i start my new gig things should pick up and ill get moving on this project.

    Excellent case :)

Use a t-line, unless you want the res for aesthetics ;)

looks nice, but I think you should make the metal things that's going to the fan a little larger.

yeah maybe, I think it looks great both ways.
but if you do it upwards you should move it to the same hight as the edge, like this :

and maybe you should make round edges :

i say thicken the sides so it matches the left top part, it looks odd going from large to skinny.

I like the rounded edges personally...

I have no idea when the board will be available, but my best guess would be late summer... :thumb:

    I used sketch-up 6 to make them.
and I think round edges looks nicer but they are more complicated to make.

    Nice start!

Oddly enough, I was thinking of a future project with this case as the base. Really don't see many of them used, for some reason. Looking forward to seeing where you go with this.

Not sure about rounded or straight edges, what kind of lines do you have planned for the rest of the case?

yeah there are parts of the round i like and parts of the sharp edges i like

yeah they don't make them any more, the 350 has replaced them. i had to get mine off of ebay, but it was unopened so woot

i think im going to go with the straight edges as they will fit better with what i have in store for the other side of the case

i must say thanks for all the input so far guys. i hope that i won't disappoint you
