NZXT takes on Zalman and Antec with new cases

http://www.bit-tech.net/news/2008/06...in-new-cases/1

COMPUTEX 2008: Gaming hardware company NZXT has some new cases that might poke some new competition against old favourites.

Ugly and bland. Reminds me of that Zalman Fatal1ty case. The display is pretty cool though.

It has the same problem that I didn't like about the P180 - Too much plastic. I prefer to have a metal case like a Lian Li.

I don't mind cases with doors, but these are fugly.

Seriously, what is with 'enthusiast' case designs recently? Have they never heard about KISS? I'd prefer a simple, sturdy, silent case that can take a Roomba bouncing off of it periodically.

It's all about one-uping the competition in nasty-ass cases. Lian Li did that god awful shell thing, Zalman did that freakish Fatal1ty thing, Coolermaster brutalised the stacker line, and did that ammo.. Thing, Acer with that 'predator'.. The list is endless.

Oh, and they're all made of balsa wood and spit.

i know, i think it all started with Antec p180 series....... and everyone copies it.

i like the hard drive fitting though, it's much better compared to Antec's slide in cage.
but not sure about the cooling, only 1 pair of fan for the top section? add 2 on top damn it!

I love my NZXT sentry, but hate the viewing angles on it, I have one 5.25 bay spare right below it, so as soon as the LX hits market I'll most likely get one.

I hope they've changed the temperature probe design to accept MB inputs though.

Do you REALLY reckon the Z-machine is something to be rival-ed? Last time I checked the only weird part in it was the extremely thick aluminum used.. Anyway the Khaos might be worth a closer look.

The Whisper, on the other hand, is just a steel case made by NZXT and after the Tempest I quite frankly am not interested at all in cutting my fingers with that thing. It might be better, after all the P180 cases are steel as well, but I just have my doubts.

I don't care so much about the fan controller, I just want the display off it!
