Crytek developing for the PSP?

http://www.bit-tech.net/news/2008/06...-for-the-psp/1

It seems an odd choice of platform, but Crysis developer Crytek is looking to move to the PSP it seems.

Porting Far Cry... maybe. It might be doable at the sort of resolution the PSP screen is. Not at the highest detail settings, but then, exactly how much detail will be seen on a screen that size and that res?

If they're worried about piracy it's probably not the best idea to move to PSP - it's even easier to copy games than PC's... Interesting that someone's trying though.

I believe Far Cry is held by Ubisoft.

Waste of time developing anything on the PSP.
I have one, and stopped looking at the games section for PSP a long time ago. Useless rubbish library. My friends who have PSP's dont buy their games at all. I was amazed at how they had cracked versions of everything I had previously bought.

But its a decent media player for downloaded movies/tv shows.

this has to be one of the stupidest moments in platform choice...

Crytek guy1: the PC platform is full of piracy, we have to get into console platforms so we can survive, consoles have 0 piracy, any ideas guys?
Crytek guy2: maybe the PSP, it is amazing cool and is a console, so it has no piracy.
Crytek guy1: GREAT IDEA!!! *aproved*

i have yet to see one person that has a psp and 1 original game.... some of them have the game that came with it, the rest is all pirated and some only use it to see videos and hear music.... or something to collect dust at home.

PSP is in no way a flop! Sure, it doesn't have a great lineup of games, but the hardware potential is great for a handheld. I love my PSP and I'm curious to see what Crytek has up their sleeve.

That's the attitude that's taken over, but it's not quite true. There are some good games out there, but not many developers have tried to make interesting games for the PSP, so it's nearly been abandoned now. It seems most people just use them for playing homebrew/converted PSX games/cracked ISO's of PSP games. Shame...

Having said that I've just restarted FF7 on my PSP, and I'm thoroughly re-addicted.

they would be better off porting crysis to ps3 if they want a console with no piracy
