£39.99 for PC game? WTF!

EA are money grabbing *******s, I love the idea of spawn, but I'm passing on all things EA at the moment as they *still* haven't fixed BF2142... and they wonder why PC piracy is so high?

£39.99 is just the RRP I think - I've seen it cheaper and at usual prices on most sites, so simmer down.

Spore could easily be game of the year

Price not really botherd about ( its 29.99 on play.com for uk people)( £39.99 for limited edition)( AOC LM was closer to £60)

So its pretty cheap by LE standards

Dear EA,
Please send me one limited edition Spore
kthxbye

For £10 more (in real terms) it's a reasonable package - I want a t-shirt too though...

Tell me about it, everyones like "ZOMG!! MUST BUY!!!" tbh I really couldnt give a toss about this game. Guarenteed it WONT live up to the hype as these things never do, and it'll be bug-ridden as all EA projects are.

i was impressed but not THAT impressed with Spore since last year. seems like a fun game, but i cant juggle too many games at the same time, and i just dont see how an upgraded version of Black&White can keep me entertained for a long time.....

..... until i downloaded the free trial creature creator......

holy crap.

$40 for the game, $60 for the LE.
what's the big deal?

360/PS3 games are $60 out the gate.

I might as well get the Super Shiny Edition.

I went to a Best Buy (actual store, not online) this weekend and they had the "Spore Creature Creator" box in the game aisle for around $10 US. So EA is trying to make money off something that can be downloaded for free? Why the heck would anyone pay money for something that just allows you to create a new species? Reading the description from Best Buy online, all you can really do is create the creature, but there is no game to it. Seriously... WTF?

Next will be cheap, plastic, (lead painted) action fictures for purchase (before the game actually releases).
