Well, that's the word in Taiwan anyway, however some are saying Intel might push it back..

but good thing is, Intel won't charge us too much for their Bloomfield 2.66Ghz, only $299. so we will be able to have a SLi/Crossfire capatable system with 6GB of DDR3 RAM for about £200 CPU + £200 mobo + £200 RAM = £600.

not bad for next generation system.

Probably to keep up the intense pressure on AMD. I doubt Intel really wants a one-horse race, as then they risk the monopoly commissions etc focussing on them, but equally if they can keep AMD from catching them up - or pulling another Athlon64 on them... that makes their life easier. At least AMD has a solid GPU this time, so it's not like they're fighting a losing battle on two fronts.

I do hope AMD do pull another Athlon64 on them.

That'll force more innovation, more price drops and quicker.

"Tentatively set your calenders because week 44, or late September, because this is when X58 and Nehalem's Bloomfield boards will arrive for us consumers."

Not just one because, but an almost entire re-wording.

Richard,

So, um... week 44 is the very end of October, not September.

8 weeks before the end of the year, and all that...

And the interval of week 40 to week 44 is basically the month of October.
