Multiwinia Hands-On Preview

http://www.bit-tech.net/gaming/2008/...s-on-preview/1

Multiwinia: Survival of the Flattest is the latest game to come out of Introversion Software, the British indie developers who first made it big with Uplink. Now we look at Multiwinia, the PC and Xbox 360 multiplayer strategy game to see how it fares in the latest incarnation...

I have the demo of Darwinia on my computer but have yet to play it due to all my free time being soaked up by TF2. Must have a go at it sometime.

Definitely looking forward to this game! I loved Defcon to tiny little radioactive bits and pieces and I hope that Multiwinia can provide the same sort of fun, easy-to-learn-hard-to-master gameplay.

Oh and thanks for pointing out those tiresome ads that show up at the end of Zero Punctuation videos now Joe, those things bother the hell out of me.

They piss me off too - Escapist shoved them in for those of us who are hoping just to see another Painkiller vid.

Uplink was great. I really liked that game. Darwinia I've never actually played, despite having a copy on my shelf.

I played the demo and thought the same Timmy - then I bought the full pack on Steam and found it was fantastic.

I'm not sure about Multiwinia, although I'll probably buy it anyway, just to support one of my favourite dev teams/publishing houses.

Uplink has to be one of my top-5 favourite games, it's just epic.

My exposure to RTS so far has been Supcom, C&C3, COH. I loved them, but didnt like turn based Civ/Total War/Aoe etc.

This game sounds like something I will definitely pick up. I love the fact that its multiplayer as I find human v cpu matches quickly stagnate due to AI issues.

Have high hopes that its simplicity also creates RTS bliss.

Havn't played any of their games, though I'll admit that several of them look to be a bit of fun, and probably better than several of the other games I have and have probably payed alot more for.

And can my muffin be blueberry?

The only snag here though is that Multiwinia is essentially a follow-up to one of Introversion’s earlier games and so I’m going to have to do a minor recap anyway – oh, the irony is so sharp it’s like eating a razorblade cheesecake. A stale one with no wrapper.
Fixed.

Definitely, everytime I see the post-review video start up I hope for the best then am sorely disappointed.
Haha, I used to yell "20 minutes. Out front... Pufferfish" at people on Xbox Live if they started getting too annoying.

You know, if you look at this stale muffin wrapper closely, you'll it has uncannily acquired a perfect indentation of Joe's foot...

Also: give me code man, I need more Darwinia!! And I want a Darwinian figurette!!!

I played the Darwinia demo and loved it, the art in game is beautiful, some of the best I have seen. After I buy Darwinia this will be my next purchase.
