Wahoo! Finally an MMO which tempts.

When you say "after all the TV series'", you mean after Voyager & DS9 have finished? Awesome.

After watching all the Voyager seasons, I wouldn't actually mind playing this. I can only hope it doesn't suck endlessly..

A decent Sci-Fi MMO (that doesn't involve endless grinding *cough* Eve) would be great. :)

    could be good,

would love to fly around in my own "voyager"

The only problem now is that the game is bound to be atleast 2 years away

EVE comes into it's own when you join a large well organised corporation. As with most MMOs, joining the right group of people is integral to how much fun the experience is. The grind in EVE is no better/worse than other titles IMHO.

Hopefully the quests/missions in Star trek will be a bit more cerebral than the standard "transport these tribbles from A to B".:D

They should make tribbles a playable class...
If the game turns out to be good, might even give it a go...

what?? u can have ur own ships?

tbh IMHO id prefer u start as a regular privateer on an NPC captains. lotsa people, few ships. then if u "level" high enough, u can have ur own ship and ur own crew. heck, i can already see the possibilities of guildies having one or two ships in their armada...

if thats how its gonna be ill pick it up.

if its gonna be a fewmonths after launch we'll be seeing hundreds of voyager and enterprises flying around... u can count me off.

QFT. It sound like it's gonna be your standard fare sci-fi space mmo. "Mining" asteroids for money, grinding space pirates.. lame.

I'll rest my opinion at "cautious enthusiasm." If well developed, good looking, and well themed -- this could be a hit.
Now, with what TomH said about EVE, I agree. EVE has had quite a controversy lately with paid employees taking sides with corporate contacts in disputes. Not to mention that to get *anywhere* in EVE, you need a corporation with everyone putting in hours grinding. It's like a second job, that you pay for.

I'm hoping STO will be more mission based, more strategic... like the Star Wars MMO before it was lobotomized.
