It means one of his parents was an astronaut too, in this case his father, who, according to Wikipedia, spent 60 days in space.

You gotta be kidding me.. You don't know lord british?
The man that gave us the ultima series and Ultima online?

Since he left Origin, RPGs where never the same. For those who don't know his work, Ultima underworld (a first person RPG) came out BEFORE even castle wolfenstein. The guy was ahead of his time pushin everyone to the edge of technology. Hes the "Gary Gygax" of computer games...

Actually Castle Wolfenstein came out first, but Ultima Underworld was one of the very first (if not the first, it's been a long time) to give you full 3 dimensions of movement/looking in an first person game. Him and his company (Origin Systems Inc.) fathered Wing Commander, System Shock, all the Ultima branded games and god only knows what else (can't remember them all).

Tabula Rasa is a shooter MMO its pretty good for an mmo, and ultima games where awesome.

You don't increase your post count when you google.

Well, actually i meant "Wolfenstein 3D". And Ultima Underworld came in MARCH '92 and Wolf 3D came in MAY '92. So it came first.. 2 months but still first And UU I was WAY more complex than Wolf 3D was. After all it was a RPG

With ultima series, he created the first game with "party". The first game with "Alignment" system (in ultima was called "karma"). By the time ultima VII came out, i never saw such a HUGE world as in there.

How could I forget System Shock? Wing comander: Privateer, Crusader, space hulk, Shadow Caster....

so if u ever played a computer RPG, you played some of his ideas.

@Bungle: I am not sure if you're being sarcastic, but if not, Gary Gygax is simply the guy that along with another guy (can't remember who) created "Dungeons & Dragons", the very first RPG book

ooo god... i am feeling sooooooo nerd.... :/

I heard Tabula Rasa was pretty decent for an MMO. Not like I'm going to bother playing... just saying, that's all Nice marketing gimmick for the game, certainly.

2,000 TRIAL keys? Whoopty, ****ing, doo!

You'd think for the event, they could be a little more generous.

I think this idea is being sold short. I think the IDEA is solid and that it ties in conveniently with the nature of the game. Also the fact that there exists second generation astronauts now is kinda kick ass. The guy I hadn't heard of, but now I can tell he's been the part of some really big things. I believe this to be more then just a marketing gimmick.

I suspect they have given bit-tech 2000 codes to give away and they didn't say thats exclusive so other sites will have codes too. TR is actually great fun and really innovative for an MMO - more planetside crossed with WoW in some ways
