Nehalem likely to launch at 3.2GHz

IDF FALL 2008: After playing with many of the Nehalem machines dotted around IDF, it looks like the fastest Intel Core i7 processor at launch will be clocked at 3.2GHz.

This is months-old news - 2.66GHz and 2.93GHz normally priced chips, 3.2GHz 'Extreme Edition' (or 'Idiot Edition' as I prefer) for launch.
They currently claim a 130W TDP for all three processors but I suspect they snuck in a lot of headroom in that, perhaps for the Turbo function? |
