Far Cry 2 has just had an official release date announce, as well as details of the collector's edition version of the game.

i'm not holding my breath for it, saw some videos of it in action, looks like a weak console game at best.

I'm really looking forward to this actually, although I hate the idea of the weapons just blowing up in your hands after using them too much. Weapon deterioration is cool, having it fall to bits after a few hours gameplay though just seems ridiculous.

This looks great, from what I've seen I have to say I'm quietly anticipating a great gaming experience.

Probably need a new GPU though :|

Been impatiently waiting for this. I get the feeling I'll enjoy it a hundred times more than I did Crysis.

Hopefully it will take all the good bits from Crysis and Far Cry (Amazing graphics, open gameplay, lots of shooting and being generally badass) and remove the bad bits (aliens/mutants).

Also, that weapon deterioration is only for old guns that you find in the grass that are already knackered I think. It was in one of those developer diaries on Gametrailers.

As far as I recall it was for all guns, but most noticeable in lower quality guns. It won't make a huge difference though as you can swap guns over and so on.

Yeah, if you pick up a crappy gun, it won't work for long, but nice clean guns will work fine indefinitely. So, it's often a choice between a weaker, but working gun, or a far more powerful, but damaged version. In theory anyway.

Personally, if it'll run on my PC, which is slowly dying (it can't even run Spore on full graphics without a bit of jerkiness), I'm rather looking forward to this.
