That money straight down the drain will in truth be worth every penny if you were to format with an alternative OS.

Although I don't claim at all to be sure about this, I thought I heard that you can reject the EULA with a new windows licence and claim a refund from Microsoft?

How did he get away with that? It quite clearly says on the Ms site that you can't claim for OEM or preinstalled software. Perhaps the HP lady wasn't aware of it.

It says in the EULA you can be refunded if don't agree to the LEGALY binding contract (the eula) that your about to agree to.
