Just wondering exactly where the next gen is gonna take us, in this FPS bore we are already in.

We are barely even touching the surface this gen, and lets face it many games this gen could be achieved on the last gen, without HD.

Halo promises so much and offers so little, only the original was a good game, and lets face it Halo has no place on the PC.

Not being the biggest Halo fan on earth (hated 1 and 2 on PC, loved COOP 3 on the 360), and thinking that Peter Jackson is extremely overrated (King Kong. I almost walked out of the movie), i MUST admit that i'm looking forward to what they bring next, even if it is another Halo... call me a fanboi if you will...

I always loved Halo 2's multiplayer (It's the best for the drinking rules), because everything was so ridiculously nerfed/beefed up compared to 1, it was just madness. 3 was far, far too short, and the weapon balancing was actually pretty okay at that point, no more madness

I would like to see Recative gaming, were you do things that effect later parts of the games, more choices with how your character is build thru a story. interfuse the RPG with a FPS in a sort of build your character role as you cause chaos...

I hope they quit worrying so much about "OOooo lookie at all the eyecandy" and worry more about gameplay and environment interaction.

The halo games are nothing special, but I do like most of the books.
Anyway, do they mean next-gen(this gen) or next-gen(really next-gen)?

They mean Next-Gen.

Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii are current gen. Thankfully I rarely see people calling it 'next-gen' these days

Halo 3 drove 360 sales up the roof, so Halo 4 will do the same and be the main driver in sales for the new Xbox, so my bet will be the next-gen system.....

We are in the current-gen, hints 360's almost 3 years old....it ain't no next-gen system....

So is it Bungie making this new halo game or another developing team? because if its another team, it has the possibility of sucking quite badly....

I wouldnt say halo 3 sucked badly, im not even really a halo fan but it was enjoyable, the multiplayer is good and so is 4 player co-op; better than most shooters.

It is overhyped I will say that but it is a good game regardless.

I was wondering this as well. Sounds like a whole new team though, maybe Bungie will be free to make another Myth game (in my dreams...).

I was worried when i finished halo2 .It was boring to death.Next gen halo? Be a bit more inovative ,New engine alone will not give fun play.If u consider solid FPS, Fear ,HL2 and episodes ,Doom3 ,Prey were best .Shooters with RPG elements then you have Duex Ex From old age.Oblivian for first person Sworders.Tactical shooters then R6 Vegas is the best.Event driven PFS then COD4 is the best.
I cant put any halo game in my list .Let's hope halo4 will.

I know Halo has become a massive franchise for MS but they really should have left Halo 3 as a close to a trilogy. It had better be something under the same franchise with a completely different (well still Sci-fi) story to it, kind of along the lines of final fantasy. I would enjoy another Halo with a different story, to make just a Halo 4 would be beating away at the tired storyline now.
