I adore the processing to this, but not so sure on the angle, too low I think...
Nice shot overall though.

Thanks. I couldn't hand hold this, had to put the camera down on top of the score keeping machine.

I like this shot a lot...POV included. Only 'complaint'--wish it were sharper (specifically text), but I could take it or leave it.

I absolutely love this shot and the post processing is spectacular. This is shot contains everything i like about photography; you've taken an everyday activity and made it extraordinary. Did you follow a guide for the processing?

Nice shot, looks very 50s/60s

Would also prefer if it was taken slightly higher and a bit sharper but it looks fine TBH.

Thanks for all the kind words guys. I wish it could have been a little sharper too, but I think the camera may have shaken a little when I released the trigger.

Nope. Everything was done in Lightroom using the manual controls. First train of thought, the bright colors in the back were distracting so I needed to make the photo monochromatic. Second train of thought, focus the image more on the bowler so I added a vignette. That's all.

Looks stunning! Any chance of this in a larger format for wallpapery goodness? the amount of blurring is perfect, just enough to show the motion, but still enough to show the form.

Great job akpoly!

I'm a lover of the post process in general (as we all know) and I feel like you really went spot-on with the mood of this one. It feels very vintage 50's.

As for the angle, I think a higher angle would have actually wrecked it a bit. From here you get a view that you would not normally see - it helps transform the event into something more dramatic.

Great shot --I love the whole Americana feel of it.

Slight criticisms are that I would have tried to align the shot with the cetre of the lane (although I know that the bowler then may cover the pins, so it's tricky). Given the busy, highly detailed background I'm not sure I would have motion-blurred the bowler that much. Perhaps a "frozen motion" shot might have been more expressive. But that may be just me.

I love the shot, think the low angle is great and the feeling of motion is wonderful, in fact the only thing I don't like is the reflection of the written signs on the polished floor, the "summer nights Rock and Bowl" signs, I find them a little distracting, just wonder what a slight crop on the bottom might have done.

I don't think a higher shutter to stop motion would give it as much emotion as a movement blur does. But I could be wrong about that. But at the same time I find it works well since the background is as detailed as you say, there's contrast between the bowler and background.

And yeah, I do tend to agree the signs reflections are distracting. But at the same time I think the ground provides a good ground (for the lack of a better word atm) for the photo. I don't know, maybe its just me?

cropped floor... opinions?

Yeah I do prefer that crop, maybe it was the clutter before that was annoying me rather than the angle
Awesome

Very nice shot indeed! Good job mate!

I highly prefer the first version as I think the second one makes me focus too much on the ceiling which I found rather unattractive upon noticing. It doesn't come out the same way in the first where I think you have great balance.
I would very much like to see a larger version of the first one though.
