Mozilla Labs introduces Geode

The Mozilla Labs team has introduced Geode, a Firefox plugin that introduces an version of the W3C Geolocation Spec prior to the full-fat implementation due in Firefox 3.1.

Eh, the biggest problem I see is things like Myspack or Face**** getting this feature implemented, and then abused when accounts get compramised.

This has been offered for mobile phones (oh yes, they can be pinpointed quite accurately) and Point Of Interest on navigational devices, even for radio's! (a certain type of sony radio would give you lokalized weather and news and restaurants and so on...Service got kicked as far as I know.)
