That is soo great
I wonder what your neighbors were thinking ![]() I think you should have shot it with nothing in the background though as the current surroundings really distract and then you wouldn't have to vignette as much either to isolate your subjects. Grown men fighting with toy swords is still priceless though

Mmmm long exposure light fun
![]() Give it a go in a park with some trees backing and nothing much else. Its about as close to Star Wars scenery as you can get without covering everything in battleship grey, doing it in some Italian palace or making polystyrene houses in Tunisia.

Yeah, I'll admit the location wasn't ideal, there was a lot of light from streetlights that was in the way too. But we figured we'd rather play lightsabers in the comfort and safety of our back garden than on some park where we were likely to attract attention to ourselves
![]() I'll see if I can convince someone else to come with us and watch my camera while we take better photo's. ![]() Dan |

Very effective use of dragging the shutter and popping a strobe mid-exposure. I think you should crop in the right side a bit more as it seems a bit off-balance, but it's a cool concept and executed fairly well.

Your updated shot is a lot better. Good job. You've isolated the subjects a lot better and the motion trails form a much prettier abstract as well.

Thanks ^_^
I managed to persuade my brother to go out to a field with me for a second try. The empty backdrop was much needed, and I think the fact that I got a 430EXII in-between sessions helped a bit. Was funny though as at one point when we were swinging our lightsabers around someone walked across the field >_< I wonder what they thought ![]() It was bitter cold when we did it, so we didn't stay out too long or take many shots, if it hadn't of been so cold, I think I'd have played with trying to get the orange street lamp glow on the horizon to show up just a bit more. But I'm fairly happy with how this one turned out. Dan |
