http://www.bit-tech.net/news/2008/10...qur-an-quote/1

LittleBigPlanet has had a European delay lengthened into a worldwide recall after in-game music quotes passages of the Qur'an.

I suppose it's doing the right thing. I'm not Muslim and those quotes are really annoying, IF anyone heard them at all.

I suppose they better check for Allah Ackbar! and Durka Durka Muhammed Jihad in the soundtrack as well

Shouldn't the sentances have to be in Arabic to count as quotes? I'm sure I've seen/heard very similar sentances in games before.

Surely they'll have to recall other games that may have quotes similar to ones found in religious texts? Maybe games that say "God" or "Damn"?

Sorry, but I feel this is a silly reason to recall a game.

This is pathetic. Who cares if it quotes the koran /quaran/bible or even the voodoo book of the dead. Its a bloody game !

They could have just released a patch and still not lost face.

So not only does religion cause wars (or mans pathetic attempt to justify the use of religion), it also causes delays to console games.

What a joke.

BULL, if this were something out of the bible no one would care, because it is the Quran and it would cause riots by fanatics, it is an issue. Double standards at work here.

Because they've given warning and the people that said it to Sony said they wouldn't have issues with a day 0 patch, why couldn't they have done that? No Reason at all to recall

Dear Bit-Tech,

Please remove my post... because of the following word: Jesus.

There, I said it. I've violated the Bible, God, and ticked off a large majority of the world.

Yours Truly,
Jasio

muslims believe that mixing any portion of scripture with music is blasphemy. This is why it's a problem, not just because "it's quoted". Get your facts right, people, and stop being so ridiculously closed-minded and disrespectful.
(not a muslim)

lol. Guys I think that it's not fine to use any thing Holy into any thing. No matter if it's Quran or Bible or any thing else.

Mean what if some one use Bible in a game with music? or what if he read bible in bathroom? same thing with Quran..

Whatever Religion things should not be mixed with fun and games But after all I say look at the good side of the game not the bad side.

Edit : I think I heard some Bible in Assiassins Creed and some Quran in Prince of Persia, I don't mind any I'm cool person and open to any thing. but the problem not every one like me. Most Muslims here are sensitive about this things.

I think they have to patch it only not recall it

This is ridiculous. If you're offended by someone quoting your holy text then you shouldn't consider it holy. Misquoting it is one thing, but just reading lines from it...

No one got mad at Shakespeare for Biblical allusions, so why would a Muslim person be offended by allusions to their holy text.

Also, why doesn't Sony just patch the game?

might be blasphemy, many might be offended by it... I don't really care, but I'm not very pleased that if I'm trying to have fun the game tells me I'll have a "taste of death"...

Media Molecule already had a patch ready for day one, but that doesn't account for PS3 owners who don't have it connected to the Internet, meaning Sony would get stung regardless.

An update from the blog: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2008/...elease-update/ One more week isn't so bad
