[10/08] Flying Orange
Long time no entry from me, and in honesty I've barely touched my camera for several months. However, recently I've started experimenting in a new and very different field for me of bike shots and this is one I came up with on Saturday, and Jamie later pointed out it might fit this month's theme so voila! Still a long way to go, but I think I'm beginning to capture things as I imagine them.
 Location: Tilgate Forest, Crawley, West Sussex Model: Jamie Strobist: Off-camera direct flash front-left by DIY cat-6 extended cord, secured by it's own cable around a tree trunk, around rider height.

Vers: I thought about landscape but the rest of the bg wasn't so great. It might've framed him over the entire jump a bit better I admit, but would've been a squeeze keeping his head and the jump in the frame, whilst filling enough at the sides. Worried to lose too much of the landing at the bottom. More side-on would've worked, but the tree's in the way.
We have other landscape shots from the day that J took of me - but obviously I can't enter those - plus there's less sense of motion being a freeze-frame inc. background:  Darkened: Jamie Log Double Large Quote:

Stiffee green? As close as they look side by side, the 5 shade is just horrible. Got a weird sparkly metallic finish and it's nasty.
