Awesome. If you are keeping the metal skin layer, you MUST sand and polish it.

-And I could stare at that tablecloth all day. It's trippy.

The idea is excellent and the craftsmanship is beautiful. Unfortunately, I see two problems with it. The first is that passive cooling is very difficult, even of such low-power components; this is actually one of the reasons the Cube was originally discontinued. Your board may have worked just fine sitting out on the table, but the airflow is a bit more restricted inside the case. If there's a decent ventilation space at the bottom to match up with the nice grills you have cut into the top, you might be OK if you can keep a clean airflow path. This brings me neatly only my next problem, which is that it's more likely to work if the fins on the heatsink run vertically, rather than horizontally as you have them drawn. The horizontal fins will tend to trap warm air, whereas vertical fins will keep a small amount of gentle airflow going.

If you end up having thermal issues, you could place a single Nexus 80mm or 92mm fan somewhere running at very low voltage to help keep the vertical airflow going. A Nexus running at 5-7 volts is so quiet that the noise of your hard drive would completely drown it out.

Sorry if I sound like I'm trying to discourage you from your original plan. I love the idea, and as I said, your work is excellent. Keep it up, because I look forward to seeing the result!

I planned to install a fan to remove hot air, just for safety.

I know the project, great job of integration, painstaking work.
Without bragging, I think I saw almost all workblog on Mac G4 Cube.

To keep the spirit Mac G4 Cube, tomorrow I'll try to do my touch-Sensitive Button.

1 x QT110 de Quantum
1 x 4N25 optocoupler
1 x 470 ohm resistor
1 x 10nF capacitor

I'll paint everything white. The columns will be chrome. Then I'll make a carbon effect on the bottom.
