I read this earlier this morning and I can see the book exploring this in a lot of depth, maybe exploring Marcus' life even more as well. There are a lot of stories and ideas in Gears, it's a shame the games have such a short storyline.

I met him once at a lan party back in 2004 he was there to show the then (very very new) beta build of unrealtournament 2k3 on (as yet to be released) athalon x64 system. It was the first time a game had been shown running a xp-64 platform. He also entered the UT2k3 tournament which I thought was wierd being the dev of the game, I was half expecting him to open the console type in some lines and have the other guy instagibbed. He was actually pretty cool, and was competitive at UT making it to the top 20

Last time I checked being a jackass who is jealous of a man who is the producer/director of a very successful games series and makes much more money than you'll probably EVER own wasn't that respectable and it doesn't make you anything except an idiot.

Are you serious? This guy is always saying BS in the media, even Mark Rein corrected him in public a few times, learn some facts. Jealous? LOL, hardly. Many people in the industry make more then him, do they keep talking crap to the media? If you think this has anything to do with jealously you need your head checked. This guy is always spewing some BS, he thinks he is some kind of celebrity or something. I suggest you go back and see this guy runs his mouth more then bigger industry guys like Carmack, Newell, others. The guy takes himself too seriously, he is just lead designer, hardly the big honcho of gaming. I am talking a lot mote then just this episode, this guy is always trying to sound like a teen trying to be cool in the media on a weekly basis, the sad thing is guys like you want his nutz in your mouth. Stop the hero worship dude, it's pathetic.

On a side note, game desginers do not make big money at all, there are many people at my work that would make more then CliffyB, how much do you think he makes, lol. If I was gonna be jealous of someone it surely would not be him.

Seriously Leper, I'm failing to understand your problem here, Gears of War's lead creator has commented on introducing a romantic storyline into one of Epic's games.

CliffyB makes more than enough and is a very visible figure. He makes tonnes. It's the developers and animators who work under him and who actually do all the work he tells them to that don't get paid as much and who have to work twenty hour days for months on end. Cliff is more a storyline creator and and public face for the company - he doesn't actually do any of the coding IIRC.

Aside from the very wealthiest people there's always gonna be people making more than person X.
Okay I can't even be bothered replying to the BS overload that is detected in that post so I'll keep it simple:
