MSI's Master Overclocking Arena 2008

http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/200...g-arena-2008/1

Last week, we were out in Taipei City at MSI's inaugural Master Overclocking Arena to watch the Liquid Nitrogen flow freely while some of the world's top overclockers competed for a share of the $6,000 prize fund. Here's what happened on a short and rain affected trip to Taiwan.

What VGAs were they using? I quickly scanned the whole article again but couldn't find any mention of which ones they were.

wow is it me or has Bit-Tech learned from their last OC coverage... me thinks so, this was a far far far better coverage from BT then I have seen in a while so props for getting better coverage this time around and listening to the numerous amounts of complaints from the last one, no Im serious this article was great first one I have read completely through in a while now. Although I still think a little bit of video coverage would be awesome to see them tinkering and what not. ^_^

Oh I wish they would have used like I dont know 3dmark 05 at least for doing their runs versus 01se... oh well still looked umm cool =p

I liked the pics and especially the final thoughts. I was heavily into sub-zero peltier cooling during the BP6 age. Even fried 2 BP6 mobo's and one cpu in one week, one because water going through the insulation dripping on the AGP slot and one time molten the socket because the peltier was the wrong way around. Yeah stupid mistakes but learned a lot and had big fun at the time.

Awesome article as usual tim, one question though have you ever thought about at the end listing the teams finishing places and scores for those of up interested in such things? I think it'd be pretty interesting to see those scores etc

Thanks, I've added a link to the final scoreboard from MSI's official Master Overclocking Arena website to the final page.

Yeah, they were getting very close to posting great scores, but it took them until the final minutes of each session to get them. They were probably the most exciting team to watch because they were literally pushing the limit - they had so many black screens/reboots mid-benchmark that it made for exciting stuff.
