The Black Mesa Source team have released a new trailer for their Half-Life 1 remake.

That looks most win indeed!! Looking forward to its release, be good to play thought the original Half Life again having completed all of the Half Life 2 series also.

Jesus H CHRIST, that looks so amazing that i want to play it RIGHT NOW.

Why valve never did a proper re-make themselves i do not know, it would have sold like hot cakes, but i guess if they had cocked it up somehow it would ruin the whole HL series...either that or by trying so hard to not cock it up, we wouldnt have got the rest of the plethora of games they have released recently.

Playing through the original HL (albeit source one) again brought back so many fond memories.

Personally I think HL1 is vastly superior to HL2 (probably because the idea and concept of the HL series was fresh) so adding the graphics from HL2 only adds to the gap between them.

 

To the people above saying about why Valve has not done this :

I'm glad they did not, as I look forward to Episode 3, I am loving Left 4 Dead hours per week, and who knows what there next projects are! If they spent the time and effort that this mod team have done with the original Half Life then we would have experienced delays in current and future game launches, or the games would be more expensive paying for the extra devs.

The trailers looks really good, can't wait to relive the original Half Life experience and hope Valve plan to support the mod team 100% and host it through Steam!

 

This looks friggin' awesome! Next after the System Shock games Half-Life has to be my favourite game of all time. Can't wait to give "Black Mesa" a spin...

 

Looks great! Can't wait to play it, I thought it had vanished into the ether like many of the Source conversions over the past four years.

 

Maybe the scientists could have prevented the accident if they'd spent less time crossing their arms and gawping at blinking control panels. Hmm....

 

I too thought it had vanished and do remember originally thinking to myself that it would never get released... but I never thought being wrong could feel so good!!! :-D

I simply cannot wait to play this!

With fear of being put on a burning stick , can I mention that I have not finished Half-Life yet, tried the other day and the graphics was just too ugly and I quit, this is great news and I might try and finish it.
