Apple's App Store has beaten all expectations with the news that after just 142 days the service has reached 10,000 iPhone and iPod Touch applications.

The most expensive one at the moment is caled iRa and its designed to let you view and control IP based cameras!!! Cheap at only £499.99

The best apps are free. UK residents may in particular like MyTrain Lite, which lists train stations in your vincinity, and will list updated train arrival and departure times (inc. delays) and from which platform for the train station of your choice.

There was a $1000 app called "I am Rich" that was removed after a day. It did nothing, and the guy made $6000 before it was removed.

To be fair, 2000 of them are flashlights and 3000 more are tip calculators.

There is some good stuff in there, thankfully. Most of what I have is free, nothing over five bucks, and it's all been reasonably decent.
