LordPyrinc is on a distinguished road
The electronics industry may suffer during this crap, but in the US the fault lies in the loans and banking industry as well as a shady stock market. The whole 401K idea here has f-ed over many people getting close to retirement. Before this crap, I thought I wasn't doing enough to invest my savings, but now I'm glad I retained more of my assests in bank accounts rather than pumping my money into my 401K. Pay off your bills and creditors first. Make sure you have enuf cash to survive an unexpected loss of a job.
