HP LP2275W 22in widescreen TFT
http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/mon...n-lcd-review/1
Monitor manufacturers are starting to listen to customers - we want some much-needed choice in the 22-inch market. The HP LP2275W is another 22-incher equipped with Samsung's latest S-PVA panel technology - is this the monitor we've dearly been waiting for? |

I'm sorry but I'll wait for a similar quality 22" monitor that offers 1920 x 1080 or better still 1920 x 1200..... finer DPI for cheesecake!!!

I disagree, the high resolution of 1920x1080 on a 22" monitor is not the ideal resolution, its a strain to the eyes when reading websites or documents. Its just to small. I think 1680 is perfect for a 20>22 inch monitor.

I feel the need to once again pimp the Dell UltraSharp 2209WA. My company just ordered and got about 30 of them. Everyone is happy!
![]() At a price of about £200 it's ludicrously cheap!

well, what's the perfect 24" then? If no one can agree on a 22", is there such a thing as the perfect monitor anymore? Does it exist in the 24"'s, or are we waiting there too?

Well I'm currently using a Samsung 215TW and I find that it's just a tad too pixelly (is that a word?) when browsing the web (with clear type on). Gaming almost certainly requires AA to smooth the image out.... unless the game supports post rendering effects
My brother runs a 20" LG at 1680 x 1050 and that seems to be much better, he can get away without cranking up AA to improve image quality. |

Or you could grab an LG W2600HP (26") now for a little bit more. Only the HP version comes with an S-IPS panel, though. The H version uses a TN panel... |

I don't get the talk about 1920x1080. This is a computer monitor. Not a TV set. If you want to watch movies buy a proper flat screen TV instead. Movies don't belong on computer displays. And 1920x1200 on a 22inch is a bit too small DOT pitch.
I've been using a 19inch 1280x1024 for a long while and when I tried a 17inch 1280x1024 I noticed that it was very compressed compared to what I was used to. I'm not saying there is a definite rule here. Some people grow accustomed to a certain DOT pitch. ref: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dot_pitch

If they started making 22" screens with 1920x1200 resolution more commonly, people would get used to them and they would sell. |

After getting my 16:9, 22" I actually kept my old 17" as a vertical monitor. It's what I use when I'm viewing the web or writing single documents. Then I use the 22" for gaming and movies. The setup works quite well, and I love the 1080p.

What I really want out of a monitor is a 20" PVA at 1680x1050. 22"+ monitors just feel silly to me for desktop use, but a good quality panel combined with a fine dot pitch would be perfect.
