I love wood cases and the more and more I see them makes me want to build one. I bought a woodworking book and started to flip though it to get an idea of what tools I needed and stuff like that and I was like ' Hmm, band saws, mitre sa. . . carving. . .jig. z. z . .z. WAKE UP WE HUNGRY' huh what?
Oh well, I'll have to get some strong espresso and see if I can get through some of these books because these wood mods are awesome! |

That's a rather small and beautiful scratch built case. It wouldn't look out of place in any home.

I like. I like a lot!
Especially love the hinge idea for getting into the case. Incredibly sexy looking case. Congrats

I'm not a wood fan so this [as expected] didn't blow me away but I have to say the craftmanship is impressive! I like the design in general but the front looks a bit too crowded for my liking.
In the end though:

First let me say the case looks incredible, I love woodworking.
About your chipping issue with plywood I noticed in the picture that shows your table saw you have the wrong blade for cutting veneered plywood. You have a 30 or 40 tooth ripping blade on there you want at least a 60 tooth blade to work with plywood. I use a lot of veneered plywood cus it's cheaper than solid wood. I got an 80 tooth blade and don't have any problems. |

That said, it does look very nice and I particularly like the hinged lid for access purposes. In fact, the only thing I'd lose is the 'AW' lettering on the front - to me it looks a bit cheesy. Other than that, top job - if you want another wood butchering job I've got a loft hatch that needs widening ;-) |

nice work but whats the point in going with some of the smallest hardware and then putting it into such a large case? I love the design but with something that big you might as well gone with a mATX system.
Still nice craftsmanship. A+

Very nice work although I don't like the AW letters on the front.

I don't like. There are no quality. Like Chris makes, then look: "Ups", then make next details to fix last errors. Too many aplications-bugfixes, with another wood. No style.

That's great work there Chris. One thing I dislike about the Atom integrated boards like the D945GCLF2 is that the CPU fan tends to be quite loud. Why they insist on using fans that small running them so fast, they are not efficient and end up being very loud. I may end up modifying mine with a lower larger heatsink and a larger slower fan.
