Great, so we'll get a chainsaw that you can only use for two seconds at a time, then you have to let it "cool down" for five minutes.

Yes! The only thing I wonder about is if it really could be excepted as major updates than an entire new game. Hopefully they sell the LFD2 as an addon for $20 or something.

I'm a little miffed that it's getting released before any of the mods for the original will be available, tbh. Still

I don't understand why this has to be packed into a brand new game. Why not just UPDATE L4D and make it PLAYABLE?

Ah, that's such a sucky piece of good news... now I have to buy that too... couldn't they have just made it an expansion for L4D?

I'm annoyed that there isn't a new counter strike. CS:S is getting far too old, yet it's one of Valve's most played games. Sure, I love L4D and will undoubtedly buy v2, but why not update CS? The source engine has come a long way since the version that's used on L4D/TF2 and the hitboxes really need sorting, which could potentially be 2 primary selling points of a new version (hitboxes as accurate as TF2 would be much nicer!)

I already thought the AI Director did all of that tbh. I swear Gabe states that it does do that in the engine explanation videos for L4D.

Hmm...

He might've suggested it did, but in-game? No.

New L4D is always a good thing, although it is starting to sound like a whole new (or nearly) game, which is good.

HL2-Ep3 won't be delayed because of this, they'll have completely different dev teams.

Time between L4D and L4D2 = 1 year
Time between EP2 and EP3 = 1 year 9 months (so far)

Come on. Give us some tasty info on EP3. It's what we all really want.

man, nobody is ever happy huh?

I think that trailer looks insane and made me smile with the amount of mayhem I'll be doing when this baby is released.
I hope they update the sounds though, the zombie moans feels old and tired all ready.

To be honest, I would say how amazing it looks, but to be honest.. it looks to be more like an expansion - a few reskins and new maps that will get them a cheap release for lots of money.. would much prefer them to work on l4d and then release a l4d 2 with an entirely new engine. =/

Won't buy it, I bought L4D two weeks before it came out... This is killing a game only 1 year after it's release... No new players, no nothing, everyone will buy L4D 2 because its new
