Gigabyte GeForce GTS 250 1GB Review

http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/200...0-1gb-review/1

Gigabyte has taken the GeForce GTS 250 and kitted it out with double the usual memory and an impressive looking quad heatpipe powered custom cooler. We take a look to see if the result is customised perfection or more pimped out Nova.

Props to Gigabyte for taking the effort really.

But a more realistic approach would've been to modify the GTX 260 or GTX 275, or even the HD4890, as those cards a more higher in demand.

Worthless card when you can get certain 4870 models for the same price, or cheaper. (Powercolor)

I think you might find all 1GB GTS 250 cards will have this decent idle power draw. It's possible some 512MB card are the same but the only way to garantee the new PCB design is to go for the 1GB card.

I remember the XFX versions of the GTS 250 had the new PCB...

Well it was pretty much old 8800GTS boards with a nice overclock..

And there are even GTX 260s going around for $160 now.

Here in the USA right now, the cheapest 4870 1 gig is $147. + shipping.
The cheapest 1 gig GTS250 is $115+ shipping, + a free $50 game.
That' an $82 difference, in favor of NVIDIA.
