Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood Review

http://www.bit-tech.net/gaming/pc/20...blood-review/1

Western games are few and far between these days, so it's a welcome delight to see Call of Juarez get a prequel. The only question is whether or not Bound in Blood is any better than the first game - we take a look at Ubisoft's low-down, dirty, rotten cowboy shooter to find out.

Actually it never went away, it's been running on the site in certain sections for a while.

Yeeeeh so glad it isn't a disappointment! the first one was an enjoyable romp, which got a bit boring in the middle before it picked up for the end.

been looking at the trailers and they've basically ripped off characters from "for a few dollars more" ...and that makes me absolutely overjoyed!

great review again Joe, and i was loving your humour too, the caption under the first pic made me laugh out loud

Yay a week later I could finally read the last page of the review :P

It looks pretty good, I'd be interested to try it once I see it on sale

I am right now overjoyed with [prototype], the game is absolutely amazing! But this one will be my next!

BTW, why this game review was online, then offline and now online again?

We got the date of the embargo wrong, so had to take it down for a few days.

Pre-ordered from Play. Loved the first, can't wait for this one to arrive!

It's a rather amusing how enthusiastical Joe has become of this game considering how he commented on the game when previewing it.

Still, if a game's good a game's good. I like the first one quite a bit too.

Played the first one repeatedly...and then a few more times when the DX10 patch was released. Great stuff. Considering the gun was king in the old West, it is surprising how few wild west titles have been released. Shame Steam wants £35 for it. Will have to see what Game are charging.

Play have it for £25 with the bullter-shaped bottle opener... :-p

Definitely going to get this one as I loved the first one so much - such a refreshing change from all those other FPS clones!

Just got this today. Can't say I'm that impressed so far tbh, but I will have to play a bit more (only played for 1hr 30mins). I just feel it doesn't have anyway near as much charm as the first game had.

sat down and beat it on normal difficulty today.. took 6 hours 18 minutes- the first part is pretty boring up until you hit that town in arkansas.. that was alot of fun =] graphics aren't that great- I mean the blur effects are alright and the engine is decent (16q aa 16x af @1080p on a 260).. but alot of the stuff like the ground and how they litter cactus all over some parts just wasn't believable..

plus the tear jerker doesn't work with this one like the first one.. I actually found myself attached to ray in the original cause of the way he yelled billlley! lol I dunno why- this prequel does have some really cool content though.. mixed bag- but worth a playthrough imo especially if you've played the first one.. the hardest part would have to be the quickdraw against another guy- found I had to adjust my g5 mouse sensitivity on the fly to give the swift kick and move on.. probably easier on a 360 controller

some pics.. didn't find all the secrets- found 2

This game sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo needs co-op!

Otherwise, I'm really enjoying it. Played it through as Thomas (really love the Injun bow and the lasso) in about seven hours and now I've just started again as Ray.

Is it just me or does anyone else want to just shoot William in the face?
