Intel to launch Clarkdale early?

http://www.bit-tech.net/news/hardwar...rkdale-early/1

Comments from industry sources have it that Intel has stepped up plans for its 32nm Clarkdale chips, moving mass production from 2010 to the last quarter of this year.

Will be neat if it's true... AMD launched their hexacore chips a little early didn't they? I know they're not targetted at the same markets, though. Anyway, I'm not really bothered either way - Core i7 will keep me going for a while I think. Although I keep wanting a Phenom II just to 'play' with...

i'm with floyd. My q6600 is still humming along. If I update anything it will be to a faster 775 chip and a better video card.

I don't know when this'll even be useful, I mean a Q9550 Oc'ed to 3.6 is good enough. Well it'll be good enough for me assuming I get it.

what's the deal with Clarkdale? which socket do they use? i though Intel is releasing 1156 CPUs at the end of this year, so releasing 32nm within 3 month would surely upset a lot of people (if it's same socket)

32nm will be both 1156 and 1366

just like 60nm and 45nm were both 775

Hmmmm I feel very funny about CPU+GPU on one die, ESPECIALLY when you think of intel graphics.... I like to keep a processor for 3-4+ years but if they intergrate GPU's on a die then I'd have to upgrade my CPU every time it got outdated and couldn't play games at as high a settings as I want =\

The on-die GPUs won't be high end. Just like Larry they'll be aimed at the biggest market: Lower to mid market segment.
