Okay, I've done a lot, just waiting for daylight (tomorrow) to take decent pics.
Here's some of the top I/O plate (this is just the mount - lots of Araldite and two bolts holding it together), cable cutouts in the mesh and the powdercoated parts that I've received thus far. Top I/O (yes, it will end up looking much neater ):![]() Mesh: ![]() Closer look: ![]() Parts all lined up (excuse the noisy pictures, my camera sucks donkey nuts): ![]() With flash: ![]() Top panel: ![]() 'Citadel'-esque side panel thingy: ![]() Left side panel: ![]() Right side panel: ![]() More as I have it.

Ok, tonight's update - everything is ready for the powdercoaters. I just finished the last of the place-testing of the hardware and everything fits as it should, unless I missed something (which, sadly, is very likely because I have a memory like a sieve).
All fitted up, minus a PSU :![]() Obviously, the pump isn't going to sit like that - it'll be isolated using rubber bushings or cured rubber slabs. And it's not really visible, but the hose going from the radiator to the reservoir needs a little trimming (to cut some slack, as it were ):![]() Artsy shot :![]() Ah, that last picture has no noise! ![]() More tomorrow

Thanks for the view and the comment AnG3L. I was beginning to despair
![]() That fillport actually serves as a drain port. The first time I messed with WC'ing (someone else's rig) the one thing I noticed was that draining/cleaning a loop is a royal pain. So I'm determined to keep it simple and neat in my own first attempt.

Powdercoated stuff arriving tomorrow. Looks like this one's going to be down to the wire.
Stuff left to do: 1. New PSU (my DA700 has not yet been delivered )2. Cut and paint the mesh shelf to accommodate the tubing/fittings - has to be done tomorrow because the chassis is at the powdercoater's 3. Put it together and fill up the loop ![]() This is going to be down to the wire (I fly back to univ on the 25th morning )Anyway, I did some final touch-ups and the like. Found the aluminum faceplate for the front I/O ports, so that if getting stuck onto the ex-ghetto I/O plate. Painted the mesh that holds up the res and got some rubber slabs for some SERIOUS vibration-isolating pump mounting ![]() Mesh: ![]() The rubber slabs - this is the rubber that's fed into dies before being squished into stuff like o-rings, bushings and such: ![]() They're all between 12-13mm thick, except one which is 5mm: ![]() When you stack them up like this: ![]() You get a pretty neat (if slightly untidy) pump mount! ![]() And here's a shot of a lot of clampage getting the I/O ports epoxied up: ![]() One more update tonight (when the clamps come off). Then the finale tomorrow. Hopefully I can get it wrapped up in 24-odd hours

Last update before I crash.
I forgot, I got a bunch of M6 socket head bolts for the switchplate. Also, the top I/O plate is done. Switchplate: ![]() And again, for kicks :![]() I/O plate: ![]() Now what I would like to know is this - the I/O plate has some obvious scratches, along with being upside-down when mounted. Should I leave it as it is in the pictures or just give it a couple of coats of black? I'm not really fussed about getting rid of the markings - they're for n00bs anyway

Anyway, I am working to put everything together. The clock is ticking. Here are some pics while the rad and block get a little vinegar bath. Chassis back from powdercoaters: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Front panel: ![]() ![]() ![]() I/O masked before being sprayed: ![]() New power supply (CM Silent Pro M600): ![]() ![]() I think an update or two from now I'll be done

Thanks! But I'm still a bit bummed that the DA700 STILL HASN'T REACHED!

Thanks! But on the other hand, I epic failed. Had to leave for Univ with the whole thing put together, looking fine and all that, but the loop was left unfilled because I simply did not have the time. Hopefully will get this completed over winter break.

Right, just thought I'd let you folks know that I've resumed work on this. I was in the middle of partially dismantling the rig when I realized that my last update had been woefully inadequate in terms of pictures. So here are a few for those of you who are curious to see what she looks like.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This last one if a bit of a dodgy stitch I tried of the previous two images. ![]() I'm currently in the process of getting another power supply and making a new hex mesh bottom partition, not to mention trying to lay me hands on another side panel so I can try not to frak the whole thing up again :P Also, UV and red CCFLs are gone, going to get some SMD LED strips instead

Obviously I lied when I said this would take me a week to wrap up.
Besides that pesky annoyance known as 'real life' coming in the way, I was also basically just lazy. Anyway, I got my PSU today after a lot of shilly-shallying on my part. That was all the impetus I needed, so I got down to sleeving Removing the wires from the 8-pin connector: ![]() One set of wires removed: ![]() All done: ![]() Injuries of teh day: ![]() ![]() Sunbeam really needs to watch the safety of their tools. Chock-full of sharp edges tearing my hands up ![]() Also daisy-chained my rad fans so I wouldn't have to deal with a ton of extra cables: ![]() That's all folks - will try and be more regular from now on

Waterblock (not really an update)
Got the waterblock for my 5870, will mount it up as soon as I get the card off the LN2 bench
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Yes, I know this hardly counts as an update but I need to keep this worklog alive

More 'almost-updates' to keep the worklog going.
Did some more sleeving yesterday because I found some heatshrink in a box (I thought I'd run out and placed an order at MDPC-X to replenish supplies )Anyway, pics. 4-pin molex cable. It had 3 molex 4-pin connectors and one floppy power connector: ![]() It got the chop because all I needed were two connectors: ![]() Removing the pins: ![]() Ended up with this: ![]() And a bunch of other sleeved cables (4-pin molex, 6-pin PCIe and 8-pin EPS): ![]() More updates soon (promise - I'm near the end now, and I'm not faffing about )

Thanks man. I just wrapped up the 24-pin cable, but too tired to post pics (it's 2am).
Will update tomorrow!

Right, so I promised another update and here it is.
I got more heatshrink, a crimping tool and a bunch of male/female and fan pins from MDPC-X. Muchos gracias to Nils for throwing in some extras ![]() Cartoon, as usual ![]() ![]() Fan pins ![]() ATX/EPS male pins ![]() ATX/EPS female pins ![]() Crimping tool (it really gives a perfect crimp!) ![]() Same tool with jaws open ![]() Heat gun. I left my other one in LA and doing big heatshrink with a lighter is a colossal pain in the rear. ![]() And the sleeved 24-pin cable (finally!) ![]() I'll probably be done by the weekend (with a temporary side panel, while I keep badgering CM to get replacement side panels to India).

![]() EDIT: Looking at the 24-pin cable is pissing me off. I think I'm going to redo it and sleeve each wire all the way.

![]() Just used 38feet of black sleeving on the wires and there are 10 left to do. Should have measured before starting. Now I have to order AGAIN from MDPC. I really need to plan this stuff out better. Thanks b4Oz Good to see you posting again!

![]() Good timing on the revival though. I'll get working on it tomorrow as I'm home sick with some sort of evil mutant flu. Plans have changed drastically, however, as I cannot justify sinking tons of cash into this given that I spend no more than 2 months of the year in India and am unlikely to return to this home once I'm done studying. I will just complete the loop with a 240mm radiator and leave it at that.
