Other Positive Ebay Purchase

For a change a positive story about Ebay. Made a small purchase there yesterday, paid on Paypal plus what I thought was a reasonable amount of postage. Had an email today from the seller telling me that she was refunding me as the postage had been cheaper than she expected! And 10 minutes later 0.90 went back into my account!! Makes a pleasant change to have a positive experience on Ebay and not be stiffed over postage

I've had more positive than negative experiences on ebay.

As for being 'stiffed over postage', if I think someone is charging too much I won't buy it. Simple.

I can't understand why there is an option to rate the postage costs, if you are happy to pay that price then buy it, if not then don't. I tend to take the purchase price and postage as a total value and base my choice on that.

I guess I agree but its a bit of a sellers market for this particular item so I would have been buying even if the postage had been high. It was more of a "gosh can't believe you are refunding not sure I would have" moment

I have had hundreds of positive experiences on Ebay. Very few negative. And nothing that affected my own rating. Largely, if you are careful with whom you deal with then you won't have problems. No problems that cannot be resolved anyway.

I had this years ago actually.

I bought a rug or something and the day after paying (as they were about to dispatch it), I recieved a nice email from them along with a PayPal refund for 50p as it cost less to send then they expected.

Was indeed a very nice gesture and although it made no difference to me financially, did strangely make me feel good for a few days that not everyone is a complete ahole!

Ditto, had several sellers refund part of the postage cost as they guessed too much on the listing vs post office ( impossible to get 100% accurate price unless you take the packaged item to the PO and ask them to weight it, which is a serious pain ).

Would never refund extra postage myself ofcourse..
