My Possibe Spec

Hi, I have posted on the forums earlier this year for a possible spec. Now i finally have my full budget of £800. This may not seem a lot but I am only 15 years old and as you would expect my parents are a bit sceptical of spending that much on a christmas pressie! I will be using the PC to be running software like Photoshop CS3 and possibly 3DSmax, I also leisurely play games like counterstrike source and garrys mod. Anyways, without further or do here is the spec:

Intel Core i5 750 2.66GHz Socket LGA1156 8MB L3 Cache
ASUS P7P55D iP55 Socket LGA 1156 ATX Motherboard
PowerColor HD 4870 1GB GDDR5 Dual DVI HDTV Out PCI-E Graphics Card
Corsair XMS3 2 GB ( 2 x 1 GB ) Memory - DIMM 240-pin - 1333 MHz ( PC3-10600 )
Antec 300 Three Hundred Black Case - No PSU
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2 CPU Cooler (Socket 939 / AM2 / AM2+ / 775 / 1156 / 1366)
600W OCZ ModXStream Pro Modular Power Supply - OCZ600MXSP-UK
320 GB Western Digital WD3200AAJS Caviar Blue, SATA 3Gb/s, 7200rpm, 8MB Cache, 8.9 ms
LG M227WD 22 Inch TFT Monitor With TV Tuner, DVI, HDMI

This will obviously contain an optical drive and keyboard+mouse but im okay with those. Please can you tell me whether or not I need more or less power, and remember i have a budget of £800. Feel free to send links of pre built computers too, I dont mind whether or not i build it myself or if it comes pre-built.

Thanks

Mystiik

If you're running 3D Studio Max and Photoshop I'd recommend ATLEAST 4GB ram, 8GB would be ideal.

Photoshop is programmed for 6GB (not eight).

If you're on budget AMD is the most money wise system.

My PC builds are in the SUPERIOR category.
Raging from 800 till 4.000 pounds sterling; only for the PC, no monitors included.
This is to clarify some choked protests, when I put together an 800GBP PC in the threads marked as affordable.

Ah, can i fit a 6GB kit into my budget ?

The Adobe website recommends 1GB minimum so surely 4GB is sufficient ?

With AMD you'll fit more power/budget wise.

However, I do not know if I'm the best person to give advices of sort, as you can see from my signature. I just made a 3.000 pounds sterling PC as an average home machine.

Hopefully you can understand that I only have 800GBP as a budget and at the age of 15, that is a lot of money. I just want to get it right, over time I will obviously upgrade the PC so maybe 4gb would be okay for now ?

4GB would be okay, see if fitting a Corsair VX550 into the package will reduce the price, it will be enough even if you put a HD5850 in there.

First I would like to solve the monior issue; there is a new model from Nec, 231Wmi, with IPS panel; it costs 300GBP; I think that it would be long term money wise to buy it; especially if you need an image that is something worth.
Could you speak with your parents to give few bucks extra for the monitor???
Or maybe tell them to stop here, so that we can explain the difference and why?

Thank you all very much for the help, but my parents are at the limit, £300 from them and £500 from me, they are also getting me a desk for it to sit.

@Kyocera - You are miles ahead of me in all of this so im gunna have to take your word for it, you know what to go for and what not to I dont know what you are on about with it being an IPS panel I would just like a monitor with aa clear image and reliability. A 20" monitor would be just fine, 22" if you can get it for under £200.

@Andersen1337 - As you can probably tell, im not that clued up on spec, would a 550 be enough. In the future i am hoping to upgrade so I future proofed the PSU for more power hungry cards.

Thanks

I'll get you a terribly awesome 24" monitor for gamers for well under 200GBP!!!

scan just got stuck on me (I hope that they haven't blacklisted me, for all the recent builds I have made using them).
