Post your aquarium

I know other Bit-Techers have this expensive addiction, but I'll start with mine.

In there I have...

7 Black widow tetras
7 Serpae tetras
6 black neons
6 neon tetras (need more)
6 glo-light tetras
6 bumblebee gobies
3 green cories
2 peppered cories
1 Corydoras melini, or false bandit cory
1 spotted raphael cat
1 striped raphael cat
and a clown pleco.

Currently on order, I have an L052 flat banded butterfly pleco and a pair of starry night ancistrus, as well as a banjo catfish. So what do you have?

I've got a 60L cold water tank, with a fake hollow log type protrusion similar to yours.

Don't have a media card reader handy (dunno where it is at the mo) so decent pics will be a problem.

Inside I have:

4 cherry barb (currently very small)
1 rosy barb (was bought in a pair but the other died)
2 green tiger barbs
2 danio
1 chinese minnow

Need to get another rosy barb.

Unfortunately aside from filling up on different types of danio or minnow I've not got a huge amount of choice from now, as I've exhausted the variety of local stockists.

I could go tropical, but I'm not sure I'm ready for the extra tank care yet!

always meant to start a thread like this, will upload after work. cant see your pics at work will have a look at home

everything is run of the mill at the mo but im planning on a second tank fairly soon i think, cant decide on a smallish marine or soft water with discus and that. at the moment im leaning towards discus

its 125/130l with

3xsiamesse fighters 1xmale
7/8 neon tetras
10/9 glowlight tetras
3/4 platies and 3 few day old babies
4 oto catfish
2 panda corys. searching for more, one died and havent seen them since to buy more
5 cherry shrimp
2 amona shrimp

im not sure on some of the numbers as some have died, cant remember and couldnt be bothered counting them anymore

this week im looking into making a diy co2 reactor and removing phosphates to stop hair algea.

I have 3 decent shops around me that arent too far away, but there are 2 around 2 or2.5 hours away that i plan to visit soon again

Wow, you guys have got some really nice setups there.

Ours is a bit of a mess. It started off alright, but algae has taken its toll, and it really needs to be emptied and started again from scratch.

There's mainly guppys in there. Pretty much all of them in there were bred in the tank.
There's also a small bristle nosed catfish, which seems to crap about a million times its body weight every day!

Just a 45l tank in my room at my parent's house. Shame that I don't get to see them as much these days, my little brother takes awesome care of them though.

1 male betta
6 panda corys
2 ottocinclus

The pic of the betta was taken when I flirted with the idea of replacing the driftwood with a rock cave, it's back to the driftwood now. All real plants and wood etc with a sand base. The pygmy swords (the grass-like plants in the corners) now pretty much cover the bottom of the tank. Looks a lot better than the masses of sand. These pics are around two years old!

My share of fish dedication (60L Juwel fresh water aquarium with 4 gold fish, plants and 3D decoration) :

...planing on switching to a salt water tank 300-400 litres when I move...

...something like this:

Fresh Water Tropical, not sure what exact fish though, will look into it if and when the time comes.
I do like the look of the new Fluval G filters, £350 for it though.
My current tank is nice, but mum and I both want a taller tank, to give it more depth and scope to play around in.

How often do you guys clean/maintain your tanks?

And how come all of your plants are so good. Whenever we put plants in our tank, they end up going slightly yellow, and then dye off or get eaten.

Is a smaller tank easier to maintain and keep in a good looking condition??

@Cerberus90, 4ft tank (240litres) try and clean as regularly as possible, but i will admit i do get lazy sometimes, as for the plants, last plants i put in the tank, the fish at them completely.

As I'm currently a student I can't afford to run a tank. I would like to get a 120G reef tank at some point. For me that is the ideal size.
The reason I can't do it now is the cost of set up with the live rock costing around £12-15/kg in Glasgow (would need about 50Kg for a 120G tank).

Until then, I'll probably set up a smaller 40-50G tank with a small amount of live rock (10-15kg)

I change about 25% every3/4 weeks nothing too demanding.

ive had problems with plants before dying off but i think plants like certain water parameters just like fish, some suited to soft water some to hard and the same with ph. i know that any plant with colour i put in died but the green ones all did well. just my two cents i could be taking complete rubbish.

would be interested in what lighting you use i know one of my tubes highlights colours in fish and one is for plant growth

We've got just one tube. Can't remember the details on it.

I lost interest in it a while ago when no matter what we did, the plants always died, and algae/silk weed just went beserk and took over the entire tank.

After reading books I'm sure we should have two lighting tubes, but our lid only takes 1.

You can just about see the box that the tube came in in my first pic. I think its a 25W tube.
