Sounds very interesting. From the little I've heard of DOTA, I think I'd definitely enjoy it. Hurry up with the announcement, Valve ;)

More importantly than serious sam Jon st. John is Duke Nukem :p

if this dota game can avoid the really elitist and arsehole community that HoN seems to have picked up, it could be really, really good.

If they can make a DotA-style game that is friendly for new players, I'm in. I've wanted to play all the ones out at the moment, but none of them allow a single mistake from a new player.

IMHO I'd rather they just hurry up with the Half-Life series and Portal 2...

Same here. I've tried DOTA a few times. I just don't see any appeal in it at all.

Although i do understand it all, still seems wrong to steal a community brand in a sense and make profit of it.

Because sir, it is awesome. And everyone loves competitive gameplay!

I've said this before, and I''ll say it again.

It's not the same team. Left 4 Dead (2), portal 2, and now this have nothing to do with the Half life team.

On topic though, I'm scptical, Valve making a non-FPS game just doesn't seem right.

Interesting. League of Legends has become my number one time soak at the moment, though I find myself using the
    /ignore enemy
command as I enter every game.

I don't think anybody said it was, but although they have a history of 'buying in' 3rd party teams and their ip, i'm pretty sure they have people working on several different projects at once (purely because they don't employ the same number of staff as other major developers). However, VALVE will be the company releasing them all.

Personally, i'm also only interested in HL2 Ep3, Portal 2 or something along the lines of a sequel to Day of Defeat Source (the last is just wishful thinking).

Grrrrrr: This video contains content from WMG, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds.

Anyway, as long as the game is fun to play, i'm down with it. :)

I think LoL is due an updated Bit-tech review as they said they'd do when it became fully fledged as opposed to the beta review.

    I'm excited for it.

I just hope they don't go change everything cosmetically.

That's what bugged me about HoN, which I played during the beta.

75% of the HoN heroes are complete rips of DotA heroes, but renamed.

The biggest reason I haven't gotten HoN is that I don't want to bother re-learning the names of heroes I already know.

I want this to be the same DotA gameplay mechanics with a vastly improved game engine, but I don't want them to rename every single hero and item like HoN did.

It would have been one thing if HoN just created new items and heroes from scratch, but they made the items and heroes identical to ones in DotA, but with different names. Why? So we have to spend weeks memorizing everything that we already know?

I wasn't a fan of HoN's graphic style either. It was too flashy and busy. I prefer the slightly cartoony look of the Warcraft 3 original.
