    what would the likely impact be on a larger block size? say 8k or 64k?

    SLC is better than MLC for read operations, but worse for write, since it has to be returned to ground state before being re-written... But it does last longer. Also, I'd love to see some random access speeds quoted as well...

    Even a large number of hard disks won't keep up with the seek times on something like this. They might keep up with the sustained transfer rate, but it all falls apart for mechanical drives the moment you start seeking a lot. To put it another way, this will probably do 1,400 one-megabyte randomly-addressed files a second. This is, at least in a practical sense, unachievable with mech disks.

    OMG I just bought a car for £7,000. I can't imagine spending that much on some storage.
