I would certainly be disappointed if I spent £250,000 on a computer the size of a room and it turned out to be less powerful than my mobile phone

Is that because the computer's really big, or because you've a really crap phone?

Whilst cool, I can't help but think what a colossal waste of money. Couldn't they have put the £250,000 towards a folding@home farm or something that will give some kind of benefit?

It's no more wasteful than touching up a castle for tourism. I hope it makes some noises otherwise is may not be the most exciting thing to look at...

Colossus was used for breaking the German code designated 'Fish' not Enigma which was done by the Bombes - totally different cypher but a very common mistake.
Cool news though.

lol our history is a waste... you know as the saying goes if we dont learn from our pass we are doomed to repeat it, I mean we spend millions on theme parks how is this anymore important to society its all a form of entertainment and in this case I think it would be cool to see one of the forefathers that have brought about what you take advantage of on a daily basis without a second thought.

I'm amazed they think they can do it for 250K. Seems like everything is at least a million these days.
