Damn, I was hoping the 7000 series would be sooner. I'm pretty sure I'll need to upgrade my gpu for this, but I'm hoping my i5 750 + 4GB RAM will be more than enough...

IMO jumping on top tier hardware just as a next gen game breaks is a bit counterproductive.

You rarely get the power you need to really max the hell out of the game, and you pay a massive wad of cash for the tantalising prospect of almost getting fluid frame rates at top detail levels.

I'll be waiting for the specs to break, then I'll probably go high end last gen hardware.

One of you madmen can sell me your 'old' hardware.

Yeah that's exactly what's going through my mind atm. I know I should wait, but damn it I crave an upgrade.

my system is going to stay as it is, apart from the Gfx card for BF3, [maybe a spinpoint?]

I don't know what to make of that Gameplay Breakdown trailer...

Either it's trying to be sarcastic? And sort of take the piss and fail.

Or they seriously have the worst voice over i've heard in a video for a long long time...

Some notable highlights include:

"DICE has just released premiere ingame footage from Battlefield 3, in this trailer you get to see the first glimpse of actual ingame footage from Battlefield 3" - Maybe his whole serious Jon St. John (Duke Nukem) voice doesn't help, but i guess if he didn't act all serious i would have thought i was watching Bad Company 2 or Call of Duty instead .

"Here we get to see a Marine breaking down a door into what seems like an Underground carpark... due to the poor lighting and the car"

"Here we can see the animation for crawling along prone"

Maybe i'm just special here and noone else finds it as strange as i did, however whilst it did have some points of analysis, it seemed like the bulk of the voiceover was just a narration of what was going on in each scene... something i could see with my own eyes (not that i wasn't appreciative of how they slowed it down for me).

well, its not DLC, its an expansion pack so they say, so should be more than just maps.
everyone does this now to help prevent pirating and buying second hand
